Enter the transactions into the system

Having identified the transaction types, you will need to find the appropriate screen or window to enter them into the book-keeping software.

Use the manufacturer's instructions or help if you can't find them on the menus.

Work through the list in order, starting with sales invoices and any credit notes, making sure the paperwork is either marked-up by writing on it, or using a stamp.

 

Move any e-documents into a folder showing they have been processed. As long as the information is clear you should only need to handle a document once to sort it, once to enter it and once to archive it.
